Incredible find - set of two Redislip playing cards made for the opening of the famous Shamrock Hotel in Houston, TX.
The hotel opened on St. Patrick's Day,1949. Glenn McCarthy, the renowned wild-catter of the Texas oil fields, loved the colors of emerald green and grass green. And these decks are emerald and grass.
This is an awesome historical artifact of the days when Houston was beginning its rise to the top and colorful wildcatters like Glenn McCarthy dominated Houston's society and skyline.
