This Tiki and bowl were purchased during a sailing trip in 1993 at the Marquesas Islands. They are reflecting the light in the photos and are warm browns not yellow or reddish. The Tiki stands and is a bit over 15\" tall. It is about 5\" across and 3 1/4\" wide and weighs almost 2 pounds. The carvings on it are great-they look like tattoos! Both the Tiki and bowl are in great condition but the Tiki does have a crack on its belly near the hand-see 3rd photo. There are, also, some very minor surface cracks on the head. The bowl measures about 10 3/4\" long and almost 5 1/4\" wide. It weighs about 1 pound and 3 ounces. You could put offerings to the Tiki in the bowl. Both are beautiful pieces that I think are old. They have been polished to prevent more cracking in dry NM. There was kava-kava spit marks on the Tiki.
