The shield has a carved heraldic image of a lion with crown holding an anchor. This image on a signet ring most commonly represents a family crest/coat of arms of high stature. The frame around the shield and the shank of the ring are made up of a serpent on the left and a leopard wrapped in the serpent\'s tail on the right.The raised relief decorations show wear consistent with age.
