Recently I bought a few older Imperial blades, mostly Russian so see my other stuff! Everything has been "put up for years" and is fresh, asthey say.
This sale is for what I'm thinking is a Cossack blade of some sort. Clearly dated 1901 and from what I can find from the "KKV" - whatever that is. Sorry, this is not my area of interest, so I don't know much aboutthis type of thing.
The blade is really nice and I think the pics show it well. Well marked with deep engraving or etching - whatever it is, it is very nice in person.
The grip is very cool - two different color materials, but obviously done that way LONG ago. The top silver fitting on the lighter color side is loose but well in place, I think it was made that way - the last photo shows it well.
The scabbard / sheath fits like a glove and is marked too - maybe a unit mark? Killer leather cover - really has "the look" of an honest example. I think it is a good thing it can't talk.
Totally untouched anduncleaned, so expect some patina!
