Here we have a very beautiful Bronze Greyhound dog sculpture signed by T.Gechter. I couldnt find any information to positively identify the artist but did find 2 French artists Thomas Gechter and Theadore Gechter, both of whom were active during the early to mid 1800s. the sculpture has great patina and was most certainly done in the 19th or early 20th century. I bought this sculpture from an old Estate of high end antiques so am guessing it was an expensive piece in its time. Please Look at my photos of the bottom of sculpture. there is a metal piece fastened on with a threaded screw hole in it so I am assuming this sculpture may have had a marble or wooden base at one time. The tail looks like it was bent or broken at one time and has been repaired with brass welding, but is still very solid, and could be touched up by a professional to look right. Otherwise I dont see any damage other than a few scratches here and there which are not real noticeable. The sculpture measures about 11 inches by 14 inches and weighs over 10 pounds. shipping in the USA will be $38.95. Overseas buyers are welcome.
