This unique shade is a rich blend of warm teracotta/coral pinky red colours colours, with added silk neps, to form a beautiful textured, tweed yarn. It was inspired by some pinky coloured rocks on a beach, on a damp morning, glinting in the low sun. Scenes like this are so typical, all across our beautiful unspoilt Scottish beaches.
75% British new lambswool, 25% silk.
I would say that this wool is soft enough for most people to wear next to the skin.
As with most good quality wool yarns, this wool will soften and fluff up after its first wash.
The natural, insulating, pure wool fibres keep in warmth but allow your body to breathe at the same time. It knits the ultimate warm jumpers and accessories, amongst many other items of woolly gorgeousness.
Knit it loosely for bulk and warmth or knit tightly to keep out the wind.
I am only selling this yarn as I had more than I needed for my own projects.
Everyone\'s tension/gauge is different, but I knit this yarn on 3.00mm needles (USA 3) and get 29 stitches and 37 rows to a 4\" (10cm) square.
Two fold yarn. Knits as a fine 4ply / fingering weight. It is more the thickness of an old fashioned 4-ply (maybe even 3-ply), rather than the more plump, modern 4-ply yarns, which we often see today.
This sale is for 250g of yarn, supplied in five balls,all from the same dye lot.
Approximate length per 50g = 280 yards (approx. 260m), so you will receive approx. 1400 yards (1300m) in total.
