#26A - 3 Cents 1851-60 Issue, George Washington, produced by Toppan, Carpenter & Co., Type IIA, Perforated 15.5, plated as 4R10L, top row Relief A, damaged relief, area retouched with lines and dots, slight DT in a Pale Rose Brown shade.Variety: LFL & RFL individually recut, FL broken between stamps.
Cancelled: Deep Blue \"SALISBURY MAY 27 Ct.\" CDS and matching deep blue 7-bar circular grid.
Addressed: \"Mrs. S. Tivmor(?) Jarvis, Care of E.P. Burghs M.D. Dedham, Massachusetts\", docketing at top center \"May 26 1861\", no contents, white envelope (130x74mm) with red wax seal intact on reverse (see scan) of what appears to be a crown.
