Peranakan woman\'s ceremonial purse (\'\'tas manik\'\'), late 19th century.First of all l have to say l know nothing about this item so will keep this short.It belongs to very good friend of mine who has a large collection of antique chinese textiles and she has given me a few to sell for her....We have asked advice on this one and have been told by an expert in this field that these are a pair of panels
from a chinese late 19th Century PERANAKAN woman\'s ceremonial purse \"tas manik\".
Obviously a purse that has been messed about with at some point and beaded in various colours.For it\'s age it is in fantastic condition,hand embroidered with various flowers and pots,it\'s very beautiful and
looks to have had an interesting history and of great interest as they shows on there backs just how delicate the beading
on these Peranakan pieces are.The pieces both measure aprox 3.50\" (13cms) by 3\" (9cms).......Together with all the other chinese/southern asian items we have listed today these have been in my friends
collection for many years and l am sorry we know very little else about them so can only
ask you to take a look at the photos,what you see is what you will
