This piece of Cast Iron has been expertly cleaned,and mineral oil applied. No old cooking grease, or built up food on thispiece. Mineral oil is for display only, since it does not turn sour orrancid. If purchasing for daily use, you will need to WASH with hot waterand a mild soap, DRY very well, and APPLY the cooking oil of your choice.Most people use canola oil or peanut oil. The mineral oil helps to lift oldcarbon from the surface of the cast iron, so if you just wipe with a papertowel you may see some of this dark carbon in the clear mineral oil.
