Boy, this is one unique frontier knife!! The 4” gorged heavy blade , I’msure came off another knife when the handle broke. Someone went to great effortto attach it to a small cow horn.Likely used as a patch knife. Never seen a cow horn used as a knife handle.A bent nail retains it, very tight. Estimated to date to about 1850-60.Overall 8 ½”. It was collected in northern New Mexico.Very cool! I sell my listings WITHOUT A RESERVE , and NO returns.
