Just found this wonderful early Bridgeport Connecticut cigar chest with wonderful wide dovetailing. This is an early one! Not machine dovetailed but very early wide dovetailing. It has its original label. Nice glass bottom. Clean inside. Someone carved initials on the inside of top lid in the plaster construction.Missing front lock which could be replaced and notice age crack on lid. Measures 8 by 12 by 61/2 inches.Heavy and solid. This is one of the first examples from this company probably dating from 1908. Similar examples from the same company and not as early have sold for over 100.00
