Antique English Victorian Carved Oak Cabinet Chest Bookcase –PEGGED

~GORGEOUS antique English oak cabinet with ALL the features we look for in our antiques! This one is OLD, check out the pegged construction, and AUTHENTIC!~

~The SIZE is perfect for sooo many places (imagine a TV on the top with components inside…or fill it with blankets and bedding in a cabin/lake house…how about for your books in a library!).~

~Actually we think it might have been for old books and Bibles in the 19th century.~

~Notice the canted sides with raised molding~
~FULL LENGTH double doors have beveled panels with dome tops, fully carved~
~Triple molding upper and scalloped bracket feet bottom~

~HEAVY oak construction, fixed interior shelves look to be pine, as does the backing(look at those original wood planks on the back!)~

~ Well built by craftsmen of the period~

Measurements:

Over 4 ft. tall…49”H x 40” x 15”;

FIXED Interior shelves are about 34” x 11”;

Interior shelf height, 10.5” from bottom; 9.5” between other shelves.

Condition:

This cabinet is in good condition for its age, with normal signs of age and use, dings, scratches, and other imperfections. Note this is VERY old (pegged construction) and I guarantee it to have dings, chips, wear to the finish, as to be expected in a piece from the early 19th century. It has NOT been restored! Key not available. Wood panel shrinkage on the right door. I always provide multiple photos that should be considered as an integral part of the description and I encourage you to email me with any questions you might have prior to offerding. Please keep in mind antique furniture should be purchased for its uniqueness, higher quality material and craftsmanship and antique patina, charm and character….NOT for like-new condition!!!
