This is a antique silk drawstring reticule or bag from the Victorian Era 1865-1895. It is hand made of yellow and cream silk with a solid yellow silk lining. Ladies would tie the ribbons to their wrists and would carry coins, money, handkerchiefs and anything else small they wanted to keep with them. The lining is slightly shattered where the drawstring runs through it. There is also some small stains on the interior bottom. It is in good shape otherwise. This item is very old and meant to be displayed, not used as it is fragile. I have made no attempt to clean it although it would probably brighten up the colors if it was carefully cleaned.
