Antique Vintage Printer Tray Type Case Letter Press DrawerAt the time of great change in the printing industry a schoolboy living in the Fens in a large house with cellars above ground persuaded his parents to fund the transporting and installation of 3 printing presses that he acquired for scrap value together with printersdrawers and the associated letter case etc. This hobby generated a good source ofpocket money for him. 3 decades on after going off to university and then founding his own business in another field, his parents asked for their cellars back. Rather than scrap or bin them he offered them to me as a working sculptor. I made 3 trips with a small tipping flat back and ended up with around 6 tonnes of dismantled presses that I have used in part of my work.This is how I come to have these drawers. One of the presses was a hand rotary probably over100 years old. The drawer plainly has age.It is singlehandle. See photographs.
