This beautiful and elegant walnut armoire is in excellent condition. It can best be described as Country French for its simple an uncluttered design, although it is not rustic.It has gracious rounded lines, and the veneer on the doors is bookmatched. Please see the detail on the corniche. Original lock and key.Note the \"hidden\" drawer at bottom. The hinges were changed to allow the doors to open 180 degrees to house a widescreen TV. The original hinges are included. One of the shelves is original, the others are not. There are two small cracks low on each side that don\'t affect the structural integrity and actually add to its antiquity!
Frame saw marks and construction of this Armoire date it to around 1910--possibly earlier. At least this is what I was told by the French antiques dealer from whom I purchased the piece. I\'m selling at less than half the purchase price as I have several pieces I must move out of storage immediately.
I am in Leesburg, Virginia, and this is a local pick up item. It will fit in a pickup truck and I will help load or can deliver within 100 miles or so for a modest fee.
