This beautiful rectangular sterling silver and cut glass dresser jar was made by Gorham Co. of Providence, Rhode Island, and bears their date symbol for 1911 – a pipe – alongside their maker\'s mark and pattern number, 1029D, to the side of the lid. The ribbed silver lid, tastefully gilded to the inside, is decorated with a fluted design and a floral wreath enclosing an oval cartouche script-engraved with the initials ESW. This delightful piece remains invery good to excellent antique condition with age-appropriate wear (see condition description) and would make a charming gift for a friend.
