Beautiful gold in whitequartz brooch. Length2 inches and height1 1/4 inches.From 1870 - 1890. Nicely detailed.Very good condition. The large piece of white quartz was removed from a California Gold mine during the Gold Rush period. It is a large piece and had never been polished. The quartz contains large veins of pure gold. The gold veiningis not readily apparent from the picture since the glass over thenuggetreflected into the camera. The pin itself is gold filled and of the era of the Gold Rush and the Victorian Age. In extremely great condition and any collector would be proud of the piece.
