Treasured by Native Americans as \"INISKIM\" for good luck and prosperity Canadian Ammolite is the fossilized shell of ancient Ammonite seaanimalsthat have been extinct since the time of the dinosaurs and is one of only two \'Biogenic\' gemstones.It is a rare and limited resource. It has been found onlyin specific areas of southern Alberta Canada and\"As a result the recovery is very limited and the realization is that it will soon be mined out completely. Because of this, the price of Ammolite increases every year.\" It is a veryvaluable gemstone similar to Opal and is composed mainly of the same mineral (Aragonite) that occurs in nacreousPearls. Ammolite of this quality shows an iridescent opal-likeflash of colors. It most commonly shows greens, reds and blues, but any color is possible.Ammolite is known in the gemworldforthis incredible array of colors and flash and some stones evenchange colors when seen from different angles due to the stacking of interior layers. The black lines that may be seen in some stones are not cracks, they are Limonite which naturally occurs in the formation of the stones. Some stones may show gold streaks and spots which is \'fools gold\' (Iron Pyrite), another natural inclusion.

This stone is meticulously wrapped with all ends tucked or covered to the inside. the wire is as physically tight to the stone as is possible,which makesthe stone i very secure. The two wire bail and stemwrap is my own design for increased security where it is needed most.These pictures are primarily shot under light that is supposed to represent normal daylight seeing. I attempt to ensure that the pics represent the stones accurately and fairly as the eye would see them. However, the camera lens does not always see the same as the human eye, and in most cases I find that it is to the detriment of the stone and it\'s beauty, but still, I must caution that a perfect exact representation is probably unachievable for a gemstone that has so many colors and layers.
