Description

Thisis a nice piece that was salvaged froma Philadelphia Victorian Home in Rittenhouse Square.

It is made of mahogany with a coat of white paint.

From what I can see all of the details are carved. No gesso.

The legs have fluted pilasters with acanthus leaves at the base and topped with carved corbels.

The pediment across the top is loaded with ornate moldings and carved flowers.

There are festoons or swags of bell flowers draped down over the mirror.

The mirror is framed in ornate moldings. Extraordinary piece.

It measures 64.25 inches wide by 73.75 inches tall. It is 5.25 inches deep at the pediment.

Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. The mirror has a few imperfections. A couple of minor repairs have been done. It original had finials at the top but they are missing. Please look at the pictures carefully.

I accept returns only if my description is inaccurate. For example, if I pull an item from a building that I believe to be original to the house and it is later discovered to be a reproduction, or if I enter an incorrect measurement, I will allow the buyer to return the item. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch.

About Us

My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. I found and purchased all of the things that I needed for my project and lots of extra treasures which I eventually resold. 17 years later this is still my full time job! I salvage whatever I can think can be reused as long as there is room in my warehouse. The warehouse is open for treasure hunting anytime by appointment. Just contact me to schedule a day and time! Thanks for visiting. Steve and Michelle
