This is an extremely impressive, fully restored, small size, vintage 1930\'s era, black iron, RARE UNMARKED GRISWOLD IRON MOUNTAIN SERIES #4 CAST IRON HEAT RING SKILLET. It bears pattern number \"1029\". It is much more difficult to obtain than most pans within this series and it is a key piece in putting together a complete set of Iron Mountain pans. Its upper bowl rim measures 7\" diameter, its cooking surface measures 5.5\" diameter, and its bowl depth measures 1.5\". Its inside bowl cooking surface retains a silky smooth to the touch texture...displaying a moderate scattering of age appropriate light use marks. This cooking surface exhibits a tad of downward bow when gauged with a straight edge. The pan exhibits no movement when placed on a flat surface. It is entirely suitable for use over any cooking heat source...including flat glass top electric! All underside bowl lettering is strong and unworn. Its bottom heating under surface bears a non-offensive smattering of light oxidation residual residue. There are no repairs, cracks, or hairline fractures. This pan has been completely reconditioned, hand cleaned, and 450 degree heat darkened and seasoned with grape seed oil. It has been provided with a light coat of protective mineral oil. This very impressive and desirable classic vintage Griswold Iron Mountain skillet is ready to be put to daily use and it may be proudly displayed right from the day it is received.
