Achille Deveria (1800 Paris - 1857 iofferem) was a well-known French painter, graphic and lithograph artist of the 19th century and elder brother of the also renowned Eugene Deveria. Achille studied under Lafitte and Girodet and began exhibiting in 1822 at the Paris Salon. He dedicated himself mainly to genre and watercolor painting. In 1830s he came to lithography and soon became a leading French lithographer. Works by Deveria are displayed in the Louvre, museums of Reims, Montpellier, Avignon and in international public collections. Oil paintings by him are very rare at the modern art market.
Condition: Image in good condition, minor tear on the right edge, slight soiling on margins (matting is advisable); unframed.
