NEWLY REVISED DUE TO \"CONDITION DESCRIPTION BOX HAVING INFO FROM ANOTHER LISTING. SORRY ABOUT ANY CONFUSION. Up for sale/sale is a vintage (1950\'s I believe) Harmony ladder braced jumbo (I think, 15.5 inches across the lower bout) bodied acoustic guitar. The stamps inside the soundhole are \"K15 7354\". If you happen to know any specifics about the year or model, please message me so that I can update this listing to make it as accurate as possible. This was made in Chicago, Illinois back when you could get a decent American made guitar from a number of outlets such as Sears/Roebuck, Western Auto, and Montgomery Wards catalogs. There are a number of condition issues that need to be mentioned, which makes me consider this a \"project\" guitar due to a bit of work that is required to get this guitar in top, playing shape. It can be played as it is, but the nut has a break between the G and D strings, almost directly at the G. Surprisingly, the string stays put, precariously on the edge of the break, but possibly if you were to bend the string really hard, it would slip into the break/crack. Either way, the nut needs to be fixed or glued back together. The tuners may have been replaced at some point, but they appear to be period correct. The bridge has been replaced with little more modern version and is attached well. The neck is still nice and solid at the heel, no reset needed. From my research, the top is made of solid spruce and the back and sides are either maple or birch, but most likely maple. There are no structural issues. The braces are all solid. The 2 vertical cracks from the bridge to the bottom are only in the paint, not the wood. The paint is obviously flaking off on the treble side of the body along with the bottom of the back and the bottom of the body as well as some rough spots on the front. I believe this is due to having been exposed to water at some point. I don\'t personally work on guitars, but I would assume that the repairs could be done fairly easily by someone who is well versed in this type of repair work. A setup may be required to get it to your personal preference. Look at the photos provided for overall condition. A modern style black chipboard case will be included. This guitar will be shipped in the case itself with plenty of padding around the guitar itself with lots of tape keeping it closed securely. To be clear, I use the case itself as the shipping container with padding surrounding the guitar and I use a type of clear packing tape that usually comes off the case clean, yet sticks to itself very well. The case will clearly be labeled \"fragile\" many times and the case will be taped around as many as 9 or more times. I have shipped countless guitars around the world (Australia, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, etc.) this way with no problems whatsoever.-Comes from the smoke-free, child-free, dog-free home of a serious adult musician and collector.-I take pride in fast and safe shipping and handling. I usually ship the same day as payment is received when possible.-Check out my many other guitars and collectibles for sale. All my items are sold \"as is\" and should arrive in condition as pictured. I am not a guitar expert, luthier, or tech. I do not repair, set-up, or make adjustments to guitars. I leave that work up to the professionals. I do my very best to honestly and accurately describe my items to the very best of my abilities. I charge a flat/fixed rate for shipping and HANDLING due to the unpredictable nature of fluctuating shipping costs, balloon rates, fuel prices, packing materials, and varying destinations. Thank you very much for your interest and valuable time. Happy offerding, good luck, and most importantly, take care.
