Made of copper . They are from Europe.Not polished.
They are unused, but the stencils have spots. .Size each stencil measures: 2 \" by 3 1/4 \"outside edge of stencil.Young European women and housewives received pillowcases , shams , sheets , tableclothes, napkins , nightdresses , linens and other laundries from their family and kinship. The monogam stencil was placed in position atop the fabric to be embroidered and a blue powdered ink was brushed or dabbed over the monogram to mark the fabric. The blue powder can often be seen on old pieces that have not been laundered.
