M1910 Canvas Scabbard with the side seam that was mainly used by the Marine Corp. according to the information that I have found, the Marine Corp ordered large quantities of these in the late 1930s to 1941. This information may be accurate or not, but this is what I found. These were made if thinner canvas material and the leather tip is also of thinner leather. This particular scabbard is in excellent condition with no rips or tears, although there is some light soiling overall and some black staining on the back just above the leather tip. Side seam stitching is intact as is the leather stitching. Leather is scuffed a bit as might be expected, but has no problems. Rawhide covered wood body seems to be solid and also seems to be firmly affixed to the canvas body. Might could be removed, but any buyer does so at his own risk. This scabbard is at least 75 years old and might be damaged greatly if the cover was removed forcefully. Best left as is.
