Bose, aboard the steamship Manhattan, sinking in a storm off Cape Hatteras, Nov. 24, 1898, to his family in Buffalo, NY, a last letter, relating the circumstances, giving instructions, and saying good-bye; with an annotated cover; framed in double sided glass. He mentions the prevailing panic with a large hole just opening up in the stern and the agitation of the passengers. The ship was in fact lost, but unknown whether he was rescued.  My response
