James Tandi is the first generation Zimbabwe sculptor of Shona descent. Born in the Zimbabwe in the district of Murewa, James informally acquired his initial artistic skills through watching other young men of his generation sculpt in soap stones and make images out of clay soil. Today James is ranked one of the top first generation artists in Zimbabwe. His work has been sold at world class exhibitions and sales in the United Kingdom, USA, Germany, Japan and throughout the world.
