I beganexperimenting with paints and pastels 15 years ago, following them, listeningto them, allowing my own style to emerge. Only years later did I teach myself todraw. The name I use on my artwork, BRAD, \'arrived\' with my style.
Interpretationand Expression
I am told myinterpretation of natural phenomena is unique, surprising, confident andunpredictable. My paintings not only encapsulate the essential elements,colours and features of a particular place, but also recreate the ambience andthe ‘feel’ of being there.
Typically, Itry to create images that are exuberant, highly original, vibrant andeye-catching. Most pieces are charged with positive energy, richlytextured and overflow with dazzling colour. Other pieces are soft,meditative and introspective.
My aim is toprovide enjoyment and relaxation so as to counter the stresses of maininspiration is Nature and the unique landscapes of romanian seashore: inparticular wilderness areas, wetlands, deserts and the unspoilt countryside.
The Romania`sunique geography, specialised fauna and flora are my favourite and considering which modern artists most influencedme, I must say I most admire Kandinsky’s sense of composition and exuberance,Van Gogh’s use of colour and intensity to stir up emotions, Paul Klee’ssensitivity and insight into our inner beings, andPicasso’s inventiveness and broad range of interests. I also love thework of Paul Cezanne, Monet, Turner and Jackson Pollock.
