Trompe-l\'oeil style painting (French meaning \'deceives the eye\')

This is a Dry-brush ORIGINAL oil painting on one single sheet of white card giving the illusion of the cat looking out over the edge of the painting. The circle is part of the painting but the outer rectangular mount is removable

All of my paintings now come witha certificate of authenticity due to someone from other parts of the world painting bad coppies of my work and selling on other sites!

This paintingwill be celo-wrapped and flat packed safely.

I have been painting for many years and have sold my paintings worldwide as well as having much of my work published as limited edition prints and for the greetings card industry. They have also been used for reproduction on to fine bone china and many othergift wareproducts.

Please take a look at my profile and\'me\' page (located near the top right hand side of this page) to see more artwork and information.

The Technical Bit

The oil painting technique used for this painting hasno medium (Linseed oil or turpentine) added to the paint and the brush is used almost dry witha minimum of paint being used. As there is no medium and such a little amount of paintused, avery smooth paper or card can be used rather than a canvas, this gives the appearance of a soft pencil or pastel drawing. sometimes a tiny drop of sewing machine oil is mixed with the paintfor thefiner details. A putty rubber orsoft eraser is usedto lift of the paint for highlights and sometimes a scalpelblade to pick out fine fur and hair.

Framing suggestion

I would recommend framing this type of painting under glass as you would a watercolourand using a spacer or the mount provided to keep the glass from comming into contact with the oil painting.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for any further information regarding this painting.
