We are offering for sale an antique US Model 1860 Field & Staff Officers Sword

Made by Wm. Reed (Read) & Sons, Boston

EXTREMELY SCARCE MAKERS (Ive read they only produced approx 370 total Model 1860 swords in 1861)

Sword blade measures 29\" long with a 5 1/2\" handle assembly (Guard grip and pommel). Blade is marked for Reed & Sons. Blade is also clearly marked \"USA\".

Brass guard is very good with embossed eagle; Wonderful patina!

Leather grip damaged and wire wrap is loose; Needs TLC

Decorative embossed pommel.

What appears to be the original scabbard is good with surface wear; oxidation wear. Both strap studs intact; Attractive chape.

Sword blade is a thinner type and wiggles in scabbard.
