People often hung these in their kitchens and then pulled string from a ball which was held in the back of it. This was before the time of scotch tape and rubber bands. These are usually very chipped and damaged. However, this one is in excellent condition and has only a few scrapes and chips, which are pictured. I collected these for many years and was careful to only buy ones in good condition. The mammy is unusual, and the only one I saw in many years of haunting antique shops. I paid much more than I am asking for it. I am now downsizing. It measures about 7 inches by 5 inches.
