No new parts or components are used. The original wiring is intact. I ownedthe premier telephone restoration company: CHICAGO OLD TELEPHONE CO for over 45 years. My staff of engineers,technicians and craftsmen developed procedures, practices and experience that I continue to employ. In the early days multiple line telephones were not yet developed. Locations requiring more than one line were supplied with several telephones. Ringer boxes with a variety of bells producing distinctive sounds were installed allowing user to tell which phone to answer. Some types: COW BELLS, LIBERTY BELLS, SLEIGH BELLS, \"T\" BELLS, WOOD BELLS, GLASS BELLS and several sizes of ROUND BELLS. Sleigh bells, especially large ones, are the rarest, very expensive and extremely hard to acquire. The ringer box is all original except for two new capacitors. Capacitors of this age often have dielectric leakage.The #2AB Western Electric dial makes distinctive clicking sounds when rotated. Serious collectors appreciate this type dial. They are hard to find and quite expensive. This telephone has good sound quality for its age. Even when new the sound quality of the transmitter was far from what we are usedto today. If the buyer wishes I will replace the transmitter unit inside with a modern one and send the original with the telephone at no extra charge. This modification will improve the sound quality and level very close to that of a modern telephone. If not I will include a modern one with instructions. They are not difficult to change. Your visitors, friends and family will marvel at this historic, unique and beautiful telephone. It is fun to explain the ringer and demonstrate its sound. Kids will want to know how to use a rotary dial.
