There has been a recent rash of expired silver testing solution on the market, namely PuriTest labeled silver solutions, which may effect the integrity of your test results. We\'d like to inform you, if you\'re using PuriTest, you\'re using expired Schweitzer’s solution made by JSP. Please remove your PuriTest label on your acid container by peeling it back to view the actual JSP information. As a solution to this problem, we will be providing testing kits shortly. These testing kits will contain pure, quality acids. Stay tuned!Schweitzer’s solution = the most common form of Silver testing acid. Contains Nitric Acid and Potassium Dicholormate. This should NOT be premixed and held in suspension for long periods of time due to oxidization. If your Schweitzer’s solution is red, dark/reddish orange or anything other then a light, yellowish-orange, chances are your solution is expired. FYI the PuriTest solution incorrectly labels their solution as Nitric + Muriatic (hydrochloric) Acid.
King Water = Nitric + Muriatic (hydrochloric) Acid. This CANNOT be premixed. The combined acids produce one of those most corrosive acids available and is recommended you treat it like a two-part epoxy = only mix the needed amount AS NEEDED.
