In the early 1940\'s, during WWII, paper was in short supply, so manufacturers who sold paper, especially for novelties and crafts, were often unable to supply the demand. They had to be creative in their packaging and distribution! Dennison even sent out a letter to their resellers and customers that they might not be able to fulfill orders during that time. One way they managed to keep selling was to sell these truncated folds of crepe paper, instead of the long folds that they normally sold. This crepe paper is duplex - two sheets of paper fused together for crafts, often two different colors. This made the paper heavier and easy to stretch into shapes - great for flowers, doll making and more.

The colors for this one are Valley Blue and Ice Blue (a light blue, and a dark lavender). The package is five feet long, but only 10\" wide, instead of the normal 20\" wide and 7 1/2 feet long. I have lots of Dennison books for sale that have patterns and instructions for all kinds of crafts, as well as lots of other vintage crepe paper for sale. The paper can be sewn, as well as glued. Ribbon and other trim can be added and the paper is great for doll making and ALL kinds of crafts. I have lots of crepe paper for sale, so take a look! Generally, the older paper is much thicker and stretchier than the newer paper, and the duplex, because it is basically two papers in one, is the thickest of all. This package was originally 15 cents, but the price has been torn away. This package is new old stock.
