ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This listing is for one wire wrapped pendant, made with a rawcrystal, fossil, wand,spear,or mineral specimen.However,pieces may have been trimmed down to an appropriate size; andragged edges or endsmay have been buffed or smoothedto make the piecemore comfortable to wear. Also,I often rub a drop or two of mineral oil onto the surface of astone or crystalto bring out the natural color.

Each pendant is hung on a 2mm rubber \"endless loop\" cord, and suspended from a fancy silvertoned pendant bail.The pendants are wrapped inheavy dutysilver plated copper wire. The cords are simple loops of 2mm black jeweler\'s rubber tubing, long enough to slip over the head. The ends of the cords are secured almost invisibly by a little piece of plastic that fits tightly insideof the hollowtips of the cord.

These pendants are hand-wrapped right here in Sunny Arizona using a simple, spiraling style that I developed to bring out the natural beauty of asymmetrical, free-form stones. The wire hugs the stone tightly, so it is held in place by the pressure of the tightened wire. This means that the stone is still pristine- it has not been drilled, and there is no glue involved.

Don\'t let the low price fool you! These pendants are priced for wholesale buyers, but the stones are ever so nice, and come from a loving home.

Please note- I have shown photos of representative pendant stones to give an idea of the general appearance of the stone pendants, but eachcrystal and stoneis completely unique. Please be aware that these are real stones and crystals in their raw and natural state, so no two will everbe exactly alike. Stones will vary in color, lightness and darkness, surface patterns, shapes, sizes, and personality. You cannot ask for specific pendants that you see in the photos, since most of them will probably be long gone by the time you are looking at this listing.

Descriptions of the various crystals, stones, etc:

Quartz Crystals- These are genuine, earth mined quartz crystals in a rough, raw, natural state. Each crystalis a unique natural creation, with its own personality and individual characteristics. These crystals will usually beat least a quarter of an inch wide and one and a quarter incheslong.

Amethyst Root Crystals- Don\'t expect raw amethyst crystals to look like clear quartz crystals! The shapes are wild and random; they twist and turn like tree roots; and they get narrower towards the base rather than wider. The surface of these crystals is covered with twisted, semi-faceted markings, making the crystal look a little like a cubist sculpture that got covered with engraved runes. These amethyst crystals will usually be about one inch in length, and most are fairly pale, running from lavender to medium purple.

Citrine Root Crystals- Citrine crystals are very similar in form to raw amethyst crystals, except that they are yellow, gold, or brownish colorsinstead of purple. Thesecitrine crystals will usually be about one inch in length, and most are fairly pale, running from a light yellowish white to a medium golden hue.

Calcite in general: Calcite comes in a wide range of shapes and colors, and can be quite lovely in its natural state. I have always loved calcite for its natural beauty, but you should be aware of its drawbacks before buying any of the calcite pendants. Calcite is a soft stone that can scratch or break fairly easily, so the calcite pendants will be more fragile than most types of stone. They should be handled gently, they might break if they are dropped on a hard surface, and theyshould not be exposed to acids or strong chemical cleaners.

Calcite Spears or Icicles- (Red, Green, and Honey/Gold): Calcite sometimes crystallizes in long, elaborate shapes, which can be tabular, triangular,or icicle shaped. These are complex, fascinating shapes that lend themselves very well to wire wrapping. They tend to have a soft shine, like melted candle wax. The red calcite is a semi-translucent rusty red tone, deep colored and dramatic. The green calcite can range from mint green to amedium greenishbrown tone,with many piecesshading from light greento darker greenish brown. The honey calcite is well named, with a translucent golden glow like a jar of honey.Most of my calcite spearsare aboutone and aquarter inches in length.

Kyanite blade crystals are long andnarrow, and aresometimesthin enough to be translucent. My blade crystals mostlyrange from oneand a quarter inches toone anda halfinches in length; they areabout one fourth of an inch in width; andare usually one tothree millimeters thick. The color ranges from a dusty, fadeddenim blue to a navyblue color. (The crystals sometimes show a brighterblue in some lights.Aswithmany blue stones, the perceived color canchange when viewed in different lights, such assunlight, fluorescent lights, incandescent bulbs, etc.)

Kyanite tabular crystals are shorter and broader than the kyanite blade crystals, but they are similar in color and appearance. The regular tabular kyanites areusually a little less than halfan inch wide, and are between one inch and one and a quarter inches long. The larger tabular kyanites are the same width, but are usually one and a halfinches or morein length.

Black kyanite fans have a rough, corrugated surface texture, and are shaped like long triangles. The fans that I have will usually range from a littleone and a quarter inchestoone and three quarters inchesin length. The black kyanite fans are a bit fragile, so they should be handled gently.

Satin Spar/ Selenite wands- Satin Spar is a fibrous, crystallinevariety of gypsum or selenite,often used as a gemstoneor for decorative carvings due to itsnatural beauty and silky luster. The fibers are usually long and straight, running in parallel lines that create a natural chatoyancy,similar to a catseye orfiber optics effect. In motion, these beautiesshimmer like moonlight on water!The selenite/ satin spar wands arestraight and slim, usuallyabout an inch and a halfin length, and at least a quarter of an inch wide.

Tabular selenitesare shorter and broader than the selenite wands, but they are similar in color and appearance. The regular tabular selenites are about half an inch wide, and are between one inch andone and aquarter incheslong. The larger tabular selenites are about the same width, but are usually one and a half inches or morein length.

Warning! Selenite is lovely, but itis not a proper stone; it isa very soft mineral that can be scratched with a fingernail. I have just read that selenitecan bewater-soluble, so never leave it soaking in water. (It\'s okay to wipe the surface with a damp cloth, but otherwise it\'s a good idea to keep it dry.)

Shark Tooth Fragments- Some years back, I boughta box of broken shark\'s teethfroman east coast diverwho collects fossil teeth and bonesoff ofthe ocean bed. Although perfect fossil specimens can be quite expensive, the random lot ofdamaged specimenswas priced veryreasonably, so I\'m able tosell them asaffordable jewelry items. However, please be aware these areBROKEN teeth,NOTintact fossil specimens!! Some ofthe tooth fragments are chipped and flawed; others are split in halffrom top to bottom, creating craggy, narrow shapes have an ancient,battered, and kind ofsinister look. (Warning: the tips can be sharp, so pleasebe careful when you are wearing them.You shouldremove these pendants before sleeping, rolling downhills,engaging in sports, or anything else that could cause you to get poked orjabbedby the tip ofthe tooth.)

Dark Smoky Quartz Crystals- These aredarkquartz crystals, with color ranging from translucent brownish-gray to deep brownish-black. Each crystalis a unique natural creation, with its own personality and individual characteristics.
