1. 1883 Dakota Bible - American Bible Society. Rebound. American Bible Society, New York. Dakota Wowapi Wakan. Translated out of the Original Tongues; by Thomas S. Williamson and Stephen R. Riggs, Missionaries. Measures at 6.25\" x 7.25”

2. 1829 Gospel According to Saint Luke, translated into the Seneca Tongue. American Bible Society. Double pagination, with Seneca and English text on facing pages. Two title pages. Harris, Thompson S. (trans). New York: Printed for the American Bible Society 1829. 149 pages. Contemporary calf. Rubbed, very good. Harris was a missionary to the Seneca. He also translated the Gospel of Matthew and the Sermon on the Mount into the Seneca language. American Imprints 37782.

Creating composite New Testaments composed of mixed editions of the separately published Gospels and other books of the New Testament in Cherokee was a common practice at the Park Hill Mission Press in the middle of the 19th century. The main translators were Samuel A. Worcester, a medical missionary, and Elias Boudinot, a Cherokee who had been educated at the Foreign Mission School in Cornwall, Connecticut.

The distinctive Cree Syllabary was invented in 1841 by Wesleyan missionary James Evans. Darlow & Moule note that this translation into Western Cree was prepared by W. Mason, assisted by his wife, Sophia Mason, H. Steinhauer (half-Indian), and others. 2 volumes in 1. 855 pages. Full embossed brown leather. Darlow & Moule 3130.
