Description

Offered is a great12\" German Helvetic Teddy Bear.

Circa 1920\'s - 1930\'s, this bear retains most of its original mohair.

The Velvet paw pads have no holes and the sewn \"claws\" are still in place.

Swivel head and jointed at shoulders and hips.

Music is played by a pressure operated mechanism in the torso, and It is still working well.

This is a rare teddy bear especially in this condition and working.

A Swiss Textile Co, Wirtschaft, started producing musical bears just after 1916, named them Helvetic Bears after the region in Switzerland.


Note that this bear comes from a fine collection of antique bears in a non-smoking pet-free home. This bear was a one of the favorite treasuresin the collection.
