The globemeasures 11\" before the neckand11 1/2\" including neck.The circumference of the globeis 36 1/4\" which makes it 11.54 inches in diameter. The globe with a neck has a neck measurment ofoutside diameterof 3 7/8\" and an inside diameter hole opening of 2 7/8\" .The neckless globe is 5 1/4\" opening. These globes are meant to fit on a 4\" fitter secured with set screws or a fitter that requires a neckless globe that secures with spring action clamps. Please check your fixture or existing globe for reference.Polyethylene is the type of material thatthis globe is made of and this type of materialwill withstand a lot more abuse fromthe outdoorEnvironment orfrom vandalism versus the acrylic that is more fragile for outdoor use.
