Early 13-15th Century early Medieval period large Ark chest. Constructed of riven oak planks and pegged through all styles, rails and planks. Hinges are two oak pin hinges. Early Oxfordshire England zig zag pattern carvings. Extremely rare piece with the original unfinished oak? This chest is all original with no restoration or repairs made. Shows age with marks, some stains and the wood is naturally bowed in some places from age. one removable oak pin hinge is missing and was replaced. One chip out at the left side dowel hinge area as shown.Set for local pickup. This piece can be open crated for you to transport.
