13\" Antique 1908-1910 German Steiff Teddy Bear ADORABLE:

PLEASE READ BEFORE offerDING:

First let me say I am not an expert on old Teddy Bears. This 13 in. antique teddy was identified by an expert book author of antique teddy bears as being made by Steiff, a German company, around 1910. Very appealing facial expression. No tags or buttons on the ear. I have added an antique red bow (a little tattered) at his neck.

  • Made of mohair and excelsior stuffed. As shown in the photos, there is mohair loss;
  • Jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips. There is something white and hard exposed on the back of his head as shown in the last photo. I have no idea what that is.
  • Hump back with long upturned paws;
  • Stitched black claws with felt pads. Missing a part of one claw stitch on one paw as shown in photo #9. Some holes to the pads exposing a little excelsior, which, in my opinion, just adds charm.
  • Original black shoe button eyes very much intact;
  • Defined muzzle with horizontal black stitched nose and original stitched mouth.
