13 inch Antique German Louis Amberg Newborn Babe :

This baby doll is rarer than the popular bye lo and was made in 1926 to compete with it. The head has a 10 1/2 inch circumference and is marked LA&S 1914 #45520 Germany. The bisque is delicately painted and has no hairlines. There is a tiny pinhead size white spot on the doll\'s chin which might be a very tiny, tiny flake. In person it hardly shows but I wanted to mention it for accuracy of description.One of the baby\'s ears has a small area of missing paint at the top of the ear, which I have provided a picture of. The blue eyes sleep with ease.I have removed the head and taken pictures of it lit from within to show that there are no hairlines. I have already stuffed the head to protect the eye mechanism during shipment. It will be easy to put the head back on the body. Just a couple of stitches will secure it again.The body is a marked Bye-Lo body with frog legs and perfect celluloid hands.
The baby wears a beautiful baby gown and matching bonnet over a full slip. She is an adorable baby in very nice presentation.This doll is such a cutie and much prettier than the pictures show.
