An essential oil is a liquid that is generally distilled (most frequently by steam or water) from the leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots, or other elements of a plant. Essential oils are usually volatile, which means they evaporate more quickly than carrier oils.Essential oils are usually much lighter than carrier oils, although some are quite thick and sticky. Most essential oils are clear, but some oils such as patchouli, orange and lemongrass can be amber or yellow in color, and some, such as German chamomile and milfoil or yarrow, can be a wonderful blue color.

Essential oils contain the true essence of the plant it was derived from. Essential oils are highly concentrated and a little goes a long way. They should never be used internally, and they should not be used undiluted on the skin unless directed by a qualified practitioner. We encourage you to learn more about the wonderful world of aromatherapy and essential oils, but please use common sense and always test a small amount, and keep away from children and pets!

Aroma: Floral, herbaceous, fresh. Sweet with woody undertones and a distinct camphor note. A popular, soft, well-rounded scent, the Bulgarian Lavender is very floral, and our best selling Lavender.

Consistency: Thin, water-like liquid

It balances the mood, clears the mind, has a long tradition in skin & hair care as well as medicine and is used for many household solutions. Blends well with: Most everything… really nice with citrus notes and florals. Add a bit of Vetiver or Patchouli for a warm base note. Clove will add spice. Geranium, Cedarwood, Clary Sage and Pine are related in character and make great blending partners.Mix Lavender and Frankincense for your bath and steam bath or try Lavender and Rose Geranium.
