Very unusual 15\" all felt doll, marked on tag on lower inside of skirt \"Lencilandia D.C. Reg Industria Argentina\" Lovely dark red and robins egg blue striped skirt (slight fading to blue panels - when you compare it to brighter blue on underside)and topped with circles of bright colored felt trim, long stitched fingers with painted nails and scarf on head around light brown mohair wig, hand painted face. Shapely legs attached to stand. Note that skirt is longer than she is tall - 15\" is height of doll would be longer to bottom of skirt. Note the pocket in back - not sure the purpose of it but it also is felt and has an original layaway card in it - cost over 40.00 when it was new - looks like maybe in the 1940\'s. I have never seen anotherdoll tagged this way - The layaway slip in the pocketcalls it an Italian doll - slight rub on inside of one leg. Note: During and after WWII some Italian Lenci Factory workers emigrated to South America and started a felt doll company called \"Lencilandia\" in Argentina.
