Lovely Little A. Marseille antique bisque doll has a leather body with Bisque arms and what seem to be some kind of solid clay legs. They are not compo and they are not fine Bisque, but they do look original to the doll, who was an undressed, dirty Estate find. I cleaned her up, and added a touch of kid under the arm joints and atop the knee joint on one leg; her body, though old, is in excellent condition and is not leaking sawdust. She is wearing a pair of long white lace-edged pantaloons, and a pretty white/blue/green floral dress with blue lace at the neck, yoke, and hem and an insert of white lace overlay in the front. The dress has stiffened netting on the inside to give it shape, and it snaps in the back with tiny snaps. Her bonnet matches her dress. Her hair is a cascade of light brown curls and the top layer in back is caught with a light blue ribbon rose and ribbon. I have NOT glued down her pate, as I will stuff her head so her beautiful brown sleep eyes will be protected during shipment. Therefore, in the pictures, her wig is slightly askew because it is sitting on a pate that is not glued down. She has white socks and little black patent leather shoes. No cracks or chips to her bisque; her coloring is beautiful; there is an eensy pin-dot flea bite (?) by her nose that looks like a beauty mark. Her sleep eyes function perfectly, and there is no loss to her eyelid wax, although it still is a bit dirty - I was afraid to tackle cleaning that for fear of losing the eyelid wax! Payment must be made within 48 hours or Doll will be re-listed.
