This is a leaf from a "LaSaincte Bible" or French Catholic Bible, Book of Genesischapters 32-35. It was printed in 1581 at Lyon By Barthelemi Honorati.The folio size paper leaf measures 365 x 243 mm in totality andcontains 64 lines of French text printed double column in a transitionaltypeface. There are three woodcuts, one of which shows Jacob wrestling with The Angel from Genesis 32. The versocontains the same type, lines & layout.(Not in Darlow &Moule, earlier version of entry 3735) This leaf contains threewoodcuts and staining.
