**Big 17\" Antique Kersa Cat Mohair Character Toy Puss n Boots Stuffed Animal Vintage Teddy Bear Plush Kitty Kitten Cat Wearing Big Felt Shoes Standing Cat Anthropomorphic Beige White Cat **This vintage Kersa Puss n\' Boots cat is a delightful German mohair character toy in a rare large size - he measures 17 1/2 inches tall from the bottom of his shoe to the tip of his ear! From his big, googly green glass eyes to his chunky orange wool felt shoes, this whimsical old kitty radiates vintage charm and quality.This toy is a high-quality piece, put together with care. Puss stands on his two back feet, on \"built-in\" shoes that have sturdy flat soles. His expressive face has a hand-stitched nose and mouth in bright red. His large, round eyes have black pupils and crescent-shaped bright green irises; it is possible to rotate and position the eyes so that they appear to be looking in different directions. The cat\'s upper paws have four stitched orangey-red claws, and peach-colored wool felt paw pads.The cat is jointed at his shoulders, hips and head. He has a long tail with a wire armature inside to give it extra support. His crowning glory is a lovely full coat of light ivory/ash-blond mohair fur. The toy is firmly stuffed with wood stuffing. The bottoms of the shoes are made of pressed fiberboard, and have a small embedded metal tag reading \"KERSA / MADE IN GERMANY.\" This tag dates the toy between the years 1948 and 1956, according to my research. I\'ve dressed the cat in some vintage doll clothing I happened to have at my house - a white \"shirt\" (actually a dress) tucked into a pair of blue and white print trousers. The clothes are not a perfect fit but they do look cute. DimensionsPuss n\' Boots stands approximately 16 inches tall from the bottom of his shoe to the top of his head, or approximately 17 1/2 inches from the bottom of his shoe to the tip of his ear.
ConditionThis cat is in very good vintage condition, with only minor age-related imperfections. Here are the details:*All joints turn easily and are firmly attached.
* The mohair plush is very well-preserved - nice and fluffy with no visible signs of thinning.
* The toy has no unusual odors or stains. It is clean for its age, with only minor surface dust (mostly visible on the felt parts).
* There is a small factory flaw on the surface of one of the glass eyes - it looks like a little milky-colored bubble or fleck on top of the glass.
* The shoes are in good overall condition, but do have a scattering of moth holes in the felt. Most of the holes are only about the size of a sharpened pencil tip. There are a couple of larger ones, about 1/4 inch across.
