Up for your consideration we have a very cool 17\" high Victorian Advertising Sign for Chas.L. Kahler & Co. - Dealers in Fine Foot Wear. This great sign features a young girl dressed for the Winter weather and carrying a basket of Roses. The sign is 17\"x 9\" and features \"Mica\" snow accents on the Bouquet as well her Shawl and the Fur Trim on her winter coat. As seen in the photos this sign does show a fair amount of water and mold damage mostly confined to the bottom, which almost resembles snow. Charles L. Kahler & Co. of Des Moines, Iowa, also known as \"Iowa\'s Greatest Shoe Store,\" started in 1860, and over timemoved to a new Nickle Front store which was opened in 1888. The handsome exterior attracted attention, but the beauty and size of the interior was a constant surprise to visitors. That there was none too much room was an indication of the volume of business which started in so humble a way on Court avenue.
