17\" Superb Antique French Hand Carved Wood- Angel, Cherub Musician-Sculpture Statue 19thIt is a superb sculpture representing a charming musician cherub.It is entirely hand carved and dates from the early 1800s.The sculpture is very beautiful and very fine, the face very well drawn and very expressive.It had to be part of a decor (religious or otherwise) it has one fixing holes to the back.There was a previous accident on the mandolin handle at two locations, the whole was repaired, and a small piece of metal was placed between his arm and his head to consolidate everything.It also misses a small piece of the tip of the wing.The back is flat, it can be hung on a wall or placed on a piece of furniture.The representation remains really charming.
