DESCRIPTION:
We are pleased to offer you this lovely antique bisque head German doll. Incised on the back of her bisque head is the ABG symbol and \"1362 Made in Germany, 0-1/2\". Reference attributes to 1910 Germany, by Alt Beck & Gottschalck. Mold \"1362\" is known as \"Sweet Nell\". This doll measures 17\" tall being a bisque socket head on wooden composition jointed body. Doll is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, legs and knees with all fingers and toes intact. She is strung fine and displays well sitting or standing with a doll stand. Body shows some overall wear, scuffs, a little built in dirt, nothing too bad for being 100 or so years old. She has a \"sweet\" face with high quality creamy bisque, open and close brown glass sleepy eyes work fine, upper hair lashes on her eye lids, painted straight lashes below the eyes, she has brush stroked brown brows, a very light paint on cheek and above the right eye brow, nothing terrible but need to mention, she has open mouth with upper teeth and molded tongue. A subtle little double chin adds to her overall charm with rose color blush on her face, she has pierced ears and wears earrings. Long blonde mohair wig is lovely with locks of curls, it slips over a pate on her head. A few hairs out of place I did not disturb her wig, it is charming. I flashed inside this head and do not see any cracks. There is plaster cement inside the head that was used to secure the sleepy eyes on rocker as most doll people do. \"Nell\" wears blue dress with white dots and lace accents, it has snaps down the back. This dress shows white discoloration throughout, see photos please, I do not now the past history. I am selling \"Sweet Nell\" as I purchased her with discolored dress. She wears full slip, pantaloons, stockings and white leather shoes. I have taken plenty of photos. Please look at my photos they will serve as part of this description. Doll stand is not included.
