One of the most popular narratives of King Philip\'s War, mainly narrating the prowess and adventures of Benjamin Church, one of the most important officers in the War, by his son Thomas. This edition is notable for its two engravings by Paul Revere, although here they are provided in facsimile. This second edition also contains a sketch of the life of Benjamin Church, not found in the first edition. CONDITIONAn unbelievable colonial find! Original 1/4 leather over paper covered boards and spine, well worn with raised bands to the spine,rounding and exposure, as shown. Hinges still holding. Nearly complete, missing one leaf (page 87, 88) and the final leaf of a poem. Also missing the two Revere Plates, as stated, here provided in facsimile. Some tattered pages, a few ripped, and some loose folds. Medium toning throughout.This is a steal in any condition and a seldom found opportunity to own a piece of Colonial history; the title alone is worth hundreds. Measures 7.5\" x 5\". Good luck!
