Notes : Engraving framed under glass, matted; back sealed & wall mount ready. Back of sealed frame shows framing shop label, W. King Ambler Old Prints & Maps, which includes engraving info./description. Engraving plate depressions visible; great coloring & details. Frame shows some age with some missing Gesso.

BOOKMARK:William Alexander traveled in the first English embassy to China, to open trade between England and China. Which was led by George Lord Viscount Macartney. It sailed out of Portsmouth on September 26th, 1792. The secretary to the embassy was Sir George Staunton, who wrote a careful account of the journey that was illustrated by William Alexander engravings.
